AEN is accepting applications to attend our first National Workshop: Tuesday, May 22 to Thursday, May 24, in Washington DC.
During this participatory program, we will discuss through panels, breakout discussion groups, and other interactive formats how shifting landscapes in American and international politics, new geopolitical realities in the Middle East, and the contemporary dynamics of social relations, culture, and politics on American campuses raise strategic questions for AEN and its membership. How do we position ourselves when we engage in our work countering the BDS movement, speaking about Israel, combatting antisemitism, and helping defend academic freedom and free speech? The goal of the workshop will be to allow AEN members to generate ideas and strategies relating to these key issues for their own work on campus.
Registration at the National Workshop will open Tuesday, May 22, at 4:00 pm, and the program will begin at 7:30 pm with a welcome and an opening keynote. The Workshop will continue through Wednesday and conclude on Thursday, May 24, at 12:00 pm.
AEN will book roundtrip domestic economy airfare or Amtrak tickets and provide complimentary hotel accommodations for the first 75 AEN members (outside of the DC area) who register. We are unable to reimburse for incidental travel expenses like taxis, Ubers, and public transportation costs except in special circumstances. All meals will be served kosher style. Glatt kosher, vegetarian, and gluten-free meals will be available upon request.
We encourage you to complete this registration form as soon as possible to ensure your space at the Workshop. For those members residing outside the Washington DC area, AEN’s travel agent will contact you within a few days of registering to help book your travel and hotel reservations.
We will provide a detailed program for the National Workshop closer to the date of the events. If you have questions about logistics, please contact Executive Assistant Brad Isakson. If you have specific questions about the program, please direct them to Executive Director Ken Waltzer or Deputy Director Mike Atkins.
Please note that AEN’s National Workshop is open only to AEN members and invited guests.
